Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the VeldWag livestock and farm-management service. By using VeldWag, you agree to these Terms.
1. The VeldWag service
VeldWag provides software and related services for capturing, organising, communicating and working with agricultural and livestock-management information.
Features may include account management, farm and livestock records, communications, connected devices, alerts, automated workflows and integrations with third-party services.
2. Authorised users
Users may access only the organisations, farms, records and functions for which they have been authorised.
Users must not share credentials or knowingly permit unauthorised persons to use their VeldWag access.
3. User responsibilities
Users are responsible for:
- providing accurate information to the service;
- maintaining the security of their devices and credentials;
- reviewing information before relying on it for operational decisions;
- ensuring that instructions submitted through messaging, automated workflows or integrations are authorised;
- complying with laws and regulations applicable to their agricultural activities.
4. Messaging and automated actions
VeldWag may permit authorised users to interact with the service through channels such as WhatsApp.
Where a message may result in an operational action, VeldWag may use identity, permission, context, confirmation and duplicate-prevention controls before processing that action.
Users remain responsible for checking that the intended animal, farm, event or other operational context is correct when confirmations or choices are presented.
5. Agricultural and veterinary decisions
VeldWag is an information-management platform. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary, agricultural, legal, accounting or other specialist advice.
Users should obtain appropriate professional advice when circumstances require it.
6. Data and records
Subject to applicable agreements and law, livestock and farm information entered into VeldWag remains the information of the relevant user or organisation.
Users grant VeldWag the limited rights reasonably required to host, process, transmit, back up and otherwise use that information for providing, securing and supporting the service.
7. Acceptable use
Users may not use VeldWag to:
- gain unauthorised access to another account;
- interfere with or attempt to compromise the security or availability of the service;
- submit malicious software or intentionally false technical requests;
- use the service for unlawful purposes;
- attempt to bypass access controls, audit controls or other security measures.
8. Third-party services
VeldWag may integrate with third-party services, including communications, hosting, mapping, payment or technology providers.
Those providers may have their own terms and privacy policies. VeldWag is not responsible for independent services operated by third parties.
9. Availability and changes
VeldWag may change, improve, replace or discontinue features from time to time.
While reasonable efforts are made to provide a reliable service, uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed.
10. Suspension or termination
Access may be suspended or terminated where reasonably necessary for security, non-payment, misuse, violation of these Terms, legal requirements, or protection of users and the service.
11. Limitation of responsibility
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VeldWag is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information supplied by users, unauthorised access resulting from compromised user credentials, third-party outages, or decisions made without appropriate professional assessment.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the VeldWag Privacy Policy .
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, subject to any mandatory rights or legal provisions that apply.
14. Changes to these Terms
VeldWag may update these Terms as the service develops. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date or other appropriate notice.
